- How is Pac powder made?
- The reaction takes place at constant temperature and the product is cooled before being transferred to a filtration step. The filtrate solution is passed through a spray dryer, from which a PAC powder product containing 30 wt% of aluminum expressed as aluminum oxide is obtained and sent to storage.
- How does PAC affect water pH?
- The higher the basicity, the lower the impact PAC will have on treated water pH. A generic manufacturing process for PAC involves the addition of a base, such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, sodium carbonate or calcium carbonate, to aluminum chloride solution.
